AFSOON

Afsoon is an Iranian born British artist. After spending her childhood in Iran, she moved to the USA in 1979 and then settled in London. Her multi faceted life is reflected in her work, where East merges with West and where the result is at once familiar and alien. There are numerous layers in her work which at times combine text with images. Afsoon often combines different techniques and media such as linocuts, photography, collage and etching. The result is a rich and playful tableau with which the audience is able to interact and personally interpret. In 2008 the British Museum acquired two series of her work for its permanent collection of contemporary art..
